Miyajima Blue Initiative
From Plastics to Possibilities: An Upcycle Adventure.
Protecting Miyajima’s breathtaking beauty requires more than observation—it demands action. This tour combines hands-on marine plastic cleanup with the creativity of upcycling, transforming discarded waste into something meaningful. Discover the hidden stories of Miyajima’s environment and leave not just with memories, but with the knowledge that you’ve made a difference.
Why We Do This Activity
— It is because we hope the beautiful sea of Miyajima we see now will stay the same for the next generation.
Plastic garbage drifting to shore is a “modern relic” that came as a cost of someone’s convenience.
Not only picking it up, but by using our hands, learning, and giving it new value again, we can reconnect the relationship between sea and people.
Our small action can become the power to connect local nature and culture to the future.
This tour is the place to make that “realization” and “first step” into shape.
